  1. How do I measure my horse to get the correct size?

    • We recommend a cloth measuring tape and an assistant to help you keep it on a straight line. Measure your horse from the center of the chest to the side of the tail. We have 2” sizing throughout so select the size closest to your measurement.

  2. How can I make sure the elastic neckline is not too tight?

    • Place the rug on your horse and buckle all straps. Stand to the side of your horse at the shoulder and pull the neckline away from your horse. You should be able to pull the neckline 12” away from your horse. If you cannot then you need to get a larger size.

  3. Will your turnout rugs rub the hair off of the shoulders?

    • Our rugs are designed to stretch in all of the stress areas. To make certain that you will not have a shoulder rubbing problem we recommend that you use this test. Place the rug on the horse and buckle all straps. Entering from the bottom place your hand between the rug and the shoulder in the tightest area you can find. Now make a fist. If you feel any pressure on your fist then you need a larger size.

  4. How should I clean my rug?

    • Use a large front load washing machine (no agitator). Use cold water and a detergent made specifically for waterproof and breathable products. Do not use regular laundry detergent or a clothes dryer as this will damage the waterproof/breathable layer. Many tack stores carry this detergent or you can buy it on-line. We recommend hang drying. Make sure it is completely dry inside before placing it on your horse.
